Pt 1. (continued in comments):
Our new campaign is releasing so soon - this is something I have been holding on to for a while now, just waiting for the right moment… mostly because I didn’t want to it to just be another post on the feed!
It has become apart of my self awareness journey and I want to share my thoughts on the importance of self awareness~
So, here’s a piece of my story… When I filmed this back in February I was in the true rat race of my business and life, so much that I completely burnt my body out and with out realising… It came out of nowhere… shortly after I ended up in hospital twice in 10 days with my nervous system in over drive, daily panic attacks, struggling to breathe, foggy headed, I couldn’t work, I couldn’t stand, I had full body convulsions and complete full body exhaustion… It took me until this state to realise that I had definitely pushed my body too far for too long…
I was burning the candle at both ends… holding space for others, filming projects, photoshoots, meetings, trainings, hosting events plus all the background work in the business, and taking care of my two babies… there was no down time, no time to reset or check in with myself…
My body had to physically shut down to make me stop… and my goodness it was scary but the wake up call has been welcomed, because it has put a lot into perspective… how I run my business, how I want to parent, how important it is to have a little bit of slow in the mix…
The moral of the story is don’t wait until you break, learn the art of listening to your body, to check in with yourself before you are on your back up stores… and to be able to press the pause button once and a while… for some this can be the most difficult thing to do, myself included… but something I still continue to work on daily.
I’m sure most business mummas can relate, how the work life balance is incredibly hard, you have one side where the business is thriving because your passionate and you love what you do, but the other side is the immense guilt you have for having to focus instead of sitting on the floor for hours building block towers and playing peekaboo behind a wall just show them your still here…
